UXC is always looking for quality vintage and modern pieces that are current in style and seasonally appropriate to add to our collection.
We’ve recently adjusted our buy hours to appointment only Wednesday-Friday from 11am-5pm. Saturdays we have open buying hours from 11am-5pm where you can come by without an appointment and items will be purchased on a first come, first served basis.
To request an appointment during the week, call (253.572.2280) to ask for available times and give us additional info about what you’re selling or make a request through our online form. If you’re curious about what kind of things we take, our Instagram feed (@uxctacoma) is a great resource to get a feel for our style. Here are some guidelines to give you a better idea of how the process works:
We buy by appointment only Wed-Fri from 11am-5pm. Saturdays we have open buying hours from 11am - 5pm. We take buys on a first come, first serve basis. When you come in we will take a look through your items and ask for your phone number. Feel free to shop around or run an errand, we will call you when your buy is done!
We'll set our prices on the item(s) we decide to take and you can choose from 50% in-store trade, or 30% in a Venmo or check payment. Please bring along a valid state-issued ID like a driver’s license or a passport for payout.
Items we don’t take must be picked up within 48 hours, or we offer the option to donate them to a local non-profit. If items are left longer than 48 hours they will be donated.
We take men’s & women’s clothing, accessories, shoes, belts, bags, hats, and jewelry. We also take select vintage houseware items like blankets, rugs, stoneware pottery & ceramic pieces, stemware, & other textile pieces. Feel free to email photos of any houseware items for us to preview before you bring them in.
To be considered vintage, an item must be 20 years or older so please refrain from bringing anything more recent than the mid-90's. As for modern brands, items must be a current style and have been in stores within the past 3 years. We look for style-forward, trend-setting designer or name brands only. We do not accept business attire, sleepwear, intimates, maternity, or items from discount department stores like Walmart, Kohl’s, Fred Meyer, and JC Penneys.
Items must be seasonally appropriate. If it is something you’d wear now, chances are we’ll buy it now. We’re always looking for designer items, popular boutique brands, current trends, everyday staples, and one-of-a-kind pieces. We also love seeing quality natural fabrics like cotton, silk, linen, and rayon, as well as wool, cashmere, suede, leather, metallics, and embroidery.
Items must be clean and in a gently worn or unworn condition, free of odors, stains, holes, missing buttons, pet hair, etc. Please look everything over carefully and leave items with unintentional holes, spots, or signs of being overly worn at home. This can help make your selling experience more successful!
